Probably be out turkey hunting by now…

The Best Hatch in Nearly 10 Years

Missouri’s turkey hatch during 2011 proved to be the best in nearly a decade. As a result, hunters in many parts of the state are already noticing the difference that a good hatch can make. Several more years of improved production would certainly help to bolster the number of turkeys in the Show-Me State.
High Hunter Success Rates

Although last year’s hatch should result in an abundance of jakes in 2012, the poor hatches of 2007-2010 will continue to make finding mature gobblers a bit more challenging than in past years. Despite the poor hatches that have plagued the state’s turkey population for four of the last five years, Missouri’s turkey harvest and hunter success rates continue to be among the highest in the nation.
